It’s Hard to Cure Golfers Elbow
I can personally attest that it is hard to cure golfers elbow. I have had to stop playing golf for several months, which was kind of easy since it was during the winter season in Georgia.
The best and hardest way to cure golfers elbow is to quit playing and never lift anything heavier than a gallon of milk. This is the best way to cure golfers elbow because you will quit using the tendons and muscles so they will eventually heal themselves. This is also the hardest way because if you love golf, you know that it is hard to stop playing for any extended period.
I did some research and learned that there are other ways to get golfers elbow than just playing golf. You can get golfers elbow by hammering nails, cutting wood, with an ax and not a chainsaw, and typing on the keyboard. Basically you can get golfers elbow from repetitive movements involving the forearm muscles and tendons.
What Can I Do To Cure My Golfers Elbow?
You need to initially rest your arm. You should ice your elbow for 15 minutes ate a time, 3 to 4 times a day. This will reduce the swelling and ease the pain. You can also take Ibuprofen or Tylenol.
There are other things you can do. You could get a cortisone shot. However, you can only get 3 cortisone shots in a year. Lastly you can also get surgical treatment.
Now That The Pain is Gone…
Once the pain is gone you can take some steps to prevent any recurrence. One way is to change you golf swing so you are not taking as many divots. This will keep the jarring pressure off your elbow. A second thing you need to do is to strengthen your muscles. Another thing you can do is to properly stretch before you play and even practice.
