Hello everyone. Today lets look at how you can generate more power and distance off the tee. Let me first say that this tip is only recommended off the tee and not with your fairway shots.
This tip should help you add an extra 10 to 15 yards off the tee.
Players that hit a draw typically get more distance with their tee shots than those players that hit a fade. This new set-up will put you in a position to hit a draw.
- Go through your normal set-up routine, remembering to bend at the hips and not at the waist.
- Close your stance by moving your back foot so your toe is parallel to the middle of your front foot.
- Put a little more weight on your front foot. Instead of putting your weight at 50/50, you should put 60% on your front foot and 40% on your back foot. I know it is hard to physically figure out the percentages, so you must practice to get the feel. Essentially you will be leaning slightly toward your front foot at setup.
- This setup will force a more in-to-out downswing, which automatically puts right-to-left sidespin on the ball. Focus on trying to swing out at the right side of the fairway.
Implementing these modifications will place your body in a very powerful setup position.
Again, I suggest only implementing this setup off the tee. You can try it with your irons and if you have success then great.
Let me know how this golf swing tip worked out for you.
