Eliminate your backswing dip
If you are hitting behind the ball, sometimf backswinges referred to as hitting the ball fat, this golf swing tip is for you.
First, you mist know that dipping your back shoulder during your backswing will cause many different problems in your swing. Your timing, your hand position at impact, your weight shift through the ball and even your follow-through position could all be negatively affected.
Now for the solution. Practice this drill on the practice range. Place a ball under your back foot, press the ball about 1/2 way into the ground to keep you from falling. If you prefer you could also use a towel or anything that is about 1 inch off the ground. Stand so the ball or other object is under your back foot heel. This will ensure that you have no weight transfer and that your back shoulder does not dip during your backswing. Now take some practice swings and focus on not dipping your shoulder.
You see, this drill forces you to practice a swing with no weight shift back and away for the golf ball while also ensuring you do not dip your back shoulder.
I guarantee that if you master this drill you will start making solid contact with the ball on a more consistent basis.
Give this tip a try and let me know how it works out for you.
