What Time is it?

If you are having trouble slicing the ball or your swing feels up and down, rather than on an arc or you are have difficulty making solid contact at impact then you are having trouble keeping your swing on plane.

But have no fear, I have a simple solution for you. How simple you ask?

Can you tell time? Then you can learn this solution.

What Time is it?

While wearing a wristwatch, start your swing and then stop it when your hands reach shoulder height. Once you have stopped your swing, Look at your wrist and see if you can tell the time on your watch.

What I am Looking For?

You are looking for proper forearm rotation. If you can’t see the face of your watch, you’ve taken the club up on too steep a plane. And that my friend will usually lead to a slice.

How Can I Stay on Plane

Instead of taking the club straight up, swing it around your body in an arc. That doesn’t mean you should whip the club to the inside with your arms. You need to rotate your left forearm as you swing your arms up in front of your chest. This forearm rotation will allow you to attack the ball on an inside-out path. And that is the key to hitting more pure shots.
